Well didn't actually smoke it... It was an older body style.. like the classic earl 80's/ late 70's. He wanted to run, there was no one around so I beat him by a little more than a carlength (my rear bumper was about 5 feet in front of his front bumper) up to @ 60 and I broke it off as I had to turn off and I also had another person in car with me. He drove by and gave me a thimbs-up[thmsup].
I doubt that was his thumb, so you may need glasses. In any case, please don't write about contests with older Corvettes. They were made for the infirm of mind and body. I think Gard was correct when he guessed their horsepower to be about 190.

HP is max 230 from 1975 to 1980... The light weight combined with v8 torque and most likely better gearing would give the vette the advantage off the line... however if it was very noisy, it may have had the simple mods: headers, intake manifold, exhaust, cams, etc.
Either way, a g35 should still reach back like a pimp and smack...
brit1072, Who made you the post police?
Will you please give us a detailed list of cars which, if there were a "contest", would be an acceptable post in the RACING forum?
