i got the latest motor trend (march 2004) a few days ago and it has an article on the new generation sports cars - 2004 s2000 vs 2004 350z track vs 2004 rx-8.

1st place was rx-8, 2nd was 350z, 3rd was s2000.

the rx-8 took 14.49 secs to do the quarter mile, the s2000, 14.19 and the 350z, 13.77. 350z 0-60 was a blistering 5.3. they ranted about the superb torquey powertrain. go check it out, they have some nice gravity tests.

how the RX 8 manage to be in the 1st place?

If that's the article i'm thinking of, they barely even justified it. They said "the 350z beats it in everything, but we're going to give it 1st place...well...just because!"
It seemed like a pretty weak award if the first paragraph admits that the ranking was arbitrary.

i think the rx8 is a tight car, 235 hp but my only problem, is its 150 tp!!!!!! WOW i mean at least 200 but 150?!!! Torque is what wins races, i like the feeling of flooring my truck and sinking into my seats, thats 335 ft pds of torque right there, but 150 is to little, i dont see how the car gets moving with that little amount of power. but its a 1.3 liter, so very little gas and it still looks nice.

actually its a rotary and it eats gas despite being a 1.3 liter. The hp rating is overated on the rx8 as well. Mazda i think had to lower the rating on the car, but they should have done it more.....it was originally 15 or 20 hp overated.
