My uncles has one (CTS V) and he is down visiting. My brother and I took the liberty of taking his car and ending a bench racing argument. My brother bet the Caddy would win, i bet my G would have the edge in a race from 20-100. We raced twice...me driving the G and him in the caddy....he was right every time the V8 was just too much....by 100 my front end was 5 feet behind his rear bumber. We did one race from 80 on the way back home...forget that he pulled on me way too quick. Damn it is all i can say.
I also need to add that this was an 06 CTS V with the 6.0 litre V8, as opposed to the 04-05 CTS V's that had a 5.7 litre V8, both engines have 400hp and 395lbs trq...but the 6.0 litre motor has different cams and higher hp throughout the power band. An 04' runs a 13.5 and an 06' runs a 13.1.
A friend of mine owns an 06 Cts-v with intake/longtube headers/b&b catback exhaust and a tune.
We did a roll from 30mph or so, by the time i got to the top of 5th gear i had him by 3-4 cars, i was surprised becuase his car felt very strong going thru the gears (gobs of tq) and crazy top end, but i guess weight played a factor as well.
We are to face off again soon after he has his head & cam package installed which i'm positive it will be a different ball game then.
BTW, though i would love to claim this victory NA i'm running a Vortech SC @ 9psi.
