When your Z06 is the slowest car in the group.....
My family is addicting to cars, FAST cars. My 2 uncles and my cousin came down from Columbus to show off my cousins new car. They kept his car a surprise until they showed up...it was some go kart looking $46k Ariel Atom???? Ive never heard of one, they make them in the UK. It weighs like 1500lbs and has a 300hp supercharged Honda Civic motor. It was the most ridiculous thing ive ever driven.....fastest car ive ever been in and best handling vehicle ive ever been in. When i floored it, i shit my pants.
Anyhow...we went cruising down route 32- which is a four lane country road that runs parallel to the Ohio River. One of my uncles has a Superformance 427 Shelby Cobra with a Roush 427 675hp motor (cost him around $55k). My other uncle has a Ford GT, and drives it like a pussy.
Anyways when you are in a slightly modded C6 Z06 and you are looking down at your guages and the pedal is to the floor and youre thinking "WTF, GO!" and a 427 cobra and ariel atom are flying by you like you aint shit..........you get humbled. Insane fun saturday...driving with a group of guys is always fun!
Yea Looksfast those ATOMS are no joke!!! All though im sure when you 1st saw it you probably laughed at it. For those of you that dont know about the Atom... here is a sweet little video for you...
thank you all for one of the most informative and fun threads in a loong time. wow, i never ever heard of such a car and i'm so impressed!!! wow, what a car!
Pretty impressive. I'll still take a Ducati 996 on the track any day. Notice they raced it against a 600, the smallest class bike on the circuit. I would say against a 750 or bigger it would be a much closer race. Still a very impressive machine to even be considered a close race, much less even beating a bike.
