Default 7 series bimmer

friday night going to the movies with my gf, i have this stupid BMW tailgating the crap outta me not only is he right on my damn bumper, but he does this thing in which he lays off for a bit, and then floors the accelerator right onto my bumper. this goes on for about 2 blocks, and i am just waiting for an opening...

when i finally get a clearing, i do the same shit he's doing. the accelerate and let go technique, to let him know i was taking off. when i hear him floor it again, i floor at the same time (mind you, he's behind me). i started off at 3rd gear going probably 35 MPH. i slowly but surely started gaining on the bimmer, until he finally let up going around 75 MPH, but i kept up going. i must've gained a 2 car difference from the time i floored it, to the time he let go.

i assumed it was a cheap 3 series, but then the guy catches up, gives me a dirty look, and turned left on the same street that i was making a right turn on. 7 series bimmer, but i'm not sure which model. i know for sure it wasnt one of the v12 models.

i was a bit surprised the bimmer didnt walk all over me considering it is near 400 hp, but when i got home, i looked up some stats on the 7 series... and it's not relaly that fast... especially for the beast engine it has. oh well another win for me

Question

I dont know if he was really gasing it ive got an 05 6mt and my parents had a 2004 745I
the 0-60 on that car is 5.9 secs so the can deff. roll with a g35, i would battle one on the freeway either they pick up fast on the freeway.

stats on different websites show that car runs 6.4 (0 - 60), a far cry from the 5.9 you're saying.

for nearly a 400hp vehicle, 6.4 is ridiculously slow.

Well the thing is, if its a 745i/Li, it has 330 hp and weighs roughly 4500 pounds. I have a 750 Li, and it has 360 hp and is around the same weight. BMW says that 750 Li runs in at 5.8 secs in sports mode, and some claiming a little faster. I cant say for sure since im still breaking it in, but believe me, that car is damn fast, especially for a car that outweighs most mid-range SUVs. But hey, the G is more fun to race in, thats for sure.
