Default 05 sedan a/t vs. 03 sedan a/t

Just got through racing a blk 03 a/t sedan stock taken in on trade at the dealership. i have an 05 a/t sedan with an injen cai and borla exhaust.. From a dig to 60mph I got 1 car length and pulling. Almost had a half car length instantly. We then ran from 30mph gave him the move he got a half a car lead and momentum . Then reeled even at 70mph and started to go by shut it down at 85. was very happy with my mods. When you do one mod at a time its hard to tell if you are gaining anything. So many people claim that the two vehicles are dead even. Stock they are probably are very close.

Hm. The 03 has 20 less HP than an 05. I raced an 03 X in my 05 X, i got an instant half car. I wonder how an AWD sedan would do against a reg one?

The 03 owners swear that thier cars were underrated, and that the 03s are just as quick as the 05s

AWD vehicles are harder to launch.. it's all about the launch in AWD's...

Hey smoke i dont think its that much of a difference. I agree with other posts that it is a drivers race. That 03 we have here at the dealership is bone stock and it ran good. Without my mods it would have real close. Im going to dyno next week to see where im at. Im not expecting much and I didnt dyno it stock. After seeing other stock dynos I will have a clue. I have off tomorrow. If I have time I will go and dyno it. and post the results

Kinda?
My friend has a sti. he just revs it 5k and then drops the clutch and gasses it.
I think you meant in a auto.
But for those people who dont know how to launch autos.
Go into lowest gear.
Press the brake as hard as you can.
Press the gas as hard as you can with the limit of the car not moving.
Then boom drop the brake and pedal the metal gasseR!!!~!
and for more sufficient shifting on auto cars.. that dont have the better autos (paddle shifter, smgs). shift about 1/2 before redlining.

awesome bro, looking forward to it

remember that there are other factors that could also be put into play.. like the weight ratio

sounds like your friend could be getting times if he learned to launch his car right... well i havent driven an sti, but 5k rpm's seems too high for an AWD.
