Default smoked by a camaro

i don't know much about camaros, but it was one of the newest ones, like a 2000 or something. i'm not sure what model, like SS or Z28 or whatever, but its a FAST one. the engine had to be modded too, it was loud as hell. exhaust for sure. i was just driving down beach blvd down here in garden grove (orange county, SOCAL) and i stop at a light. i look in my rear mirror and i see his car come flying down the street in and out of traffic. i thought to myself (i think he needs a spanking to calm him down). the speed limit is 45, but everyone does 60 because its a 4 laner that used to be a highway back in the days. i figure i can go 0-80 since its late and there was a long strip ahead of me with no cars. the light turns green and he burns his rubber. i took off with a good launch and had him in 1st and most of 2nd, and then he just takes off on me. i didn't get to teach him his lesson

it was either a really modded z28 or an SS. since you took him during first and most of second, it's strange that such a torquey car would fall back... did you hear a turbo by any chance?

dont worry about it, you shouldve pulled up to next to him and asked what his gas mileage is :P

noo, no turbo. then for sure i'd be left in the dust! i think he was behind in 1st and 2nd because he had a bad start, alot of tire burning while i had a good jump on it. lol, i'm still tripping about THIS car's gas mileage... imagine his... i'm used to my 35mpg on the 2003 corolla i drove before i traded it in

ok then, like i said, either SS or suped up z28. i think the G should be able to handle z28's of those years, much like they can handle GT's of those years as well.

the whole point of asking him his gas mileage is for you too feel better and laugh at his pathetic 15 mpg . 35 mpg ?!?! whoa, i did 22 in my GS-T and i felt the HUUUGGGE difference... i could imagine you.

both Z28 and SS will win in a 0-60 race (stock v stock) correct me if I'm wrong...
unless we are talking about the 94ish Z28, these we can compete with.

the z28's in their final generation ran the same as the GT.

and the GT 04 - is a car that the coupes can handle w/ no problem

Do you have anything supporting your statement in bold?

From what I know, the late generation Z28s are 5.3-5.5 0-60 (depending on the source) and the '04 Mustang GT is 6.1-6.3 0-60 (depending on the source)
I never looked at the GT as a competitor with a Z28 (until the 05 GT). The pre '03 Cobras are more of their match.

you are right, apparently the GT's ran low 6's in 0-60 while the camaro z28 ran low to mid 5's. you're right buddy, my bad.

but this raises another question, G's run also low to mid 5's in 0-60... how the hell did that car pull on alex so bad??? unless of course... it was an SS.

G is not "low to mid 5's in 0-60" but more like mid to high 5's. The best 0-60 I saw was 5.5 (stock).

Those year Camaros basically have Vette engines in them. Any Z28 or SS will pretty much bitch slap a G.

They have a good large displacement engine.
