damm everyone here got a 6mt G35 ... i really feel bad buying a 5AT G.... can someone tell me is a manual better than automatic (in a race) and if the 6MT is better, does the 5 AT manual shift mode help? (i dont know how to drive a manual tranmission)
We actually have a lot of autos on the site. You're gonna get a lot of replies saying of course the manual is better than the coupe b/c .... but honestly you can't go wrong with either. Remembering from the few loaners I drive, the manumatic mode works well at holding gears and is only a little slugish at changing gears. Personally I love having manual control of the gearbox but in most race situations that people are gonna get into...either one is fine. The manual is slightly faster according to the numbers put out by most magazines and the manufacturer but getting that perfect launch isn't something that everyone can do on every occasion. You'll be better off not thinking in terms of which is better but rather which is more fun/better for you. I went with manual and almost never regret it (I live in Jersey and with the number of roads we have its inevitable I'm gonna be in a few traffic situations where I curse having a manual).
man u can do both with auto. does a manual have an automatic mode? no! i use to have a manual and like pike boy said ya know he curses having a manuual in moderate to heavy traffic, have fun, u can do the sport shift in a race, cruise in auto in everyday use. can't go wrong with a 6 spped though if all you wanna do is race it then yes get a manual hold gears alot better!

its what people prefer. some people like auto some people like manual. i like manual but it does suck during rush hour. but its all worth it. anyway, you're probably seeing alot of manual owners on the forum because its 6mt.net not 5at.net

That has nothing to do with it...usually a manual owner is an enthusiast, and that is the reason why you see more 6mt owners than 5at's.
I'm saying that usually...not always...I too drive a 5at.
You'd better get more enthusiastic for your GT-R.
I wanted to buy a 6mt, but I didn't want to wait for it...I would have found a way to talk myself out of the purchase if I waited for 3 months...when I want something, I get it right away, otherwise I find a reason why I should not purchase it...

You've got more than a 3 month wait for the GT-R.

I haven't seen it yet, so it is not locked in if I don't think about it then I'm good to go

Well the webpage name is 6MT.net, not 5AT.net. DUH! :P Hah, just joking, just wanted to sound like a dick for a little. Anyways, it's just personal preference, also cool points. Personally I like having total control of the car and it's performance and that's why I went with the 6MT. Performance wise there isn't too much difference but on the scale of cool to cooler having a 6mt will get you more cool points. When you mention you got a G35 don't people ask you if you got a MT or an AT? And if you say you got an AT don't they seem more dissappointed? 6MT just makes you feel more like a man. Like having an oversized dick, it doesn't work that much better and it doesn't make you more of a man but the status is alot better. That's IMO only.

But I'm faster than you. :P
Edit: Based on my experiences at the track against stock 6mt Gs and Zs, if your stock I'm faster than you. I love pissing those guys off. With a few mods a 6mt could probably reel me back in easily.
