Default Interested to hear true dual vs y-pipe exhausts

Does anyone have sound clips of the two? I'd be looking for an exhaust setup that's not terribly louder than stock but without the raspy sound the stock one has... very gentle rumble instead of rasp would be nice. I'm curious if going to true-dual exhaust removes the rasp or makes it more apparent.[dunno]

I don't think I've ever heard anyone describe the stock coupe exhaust as raspy?

Well I'm sure we each connote different mental sounds to "raspy", but the sound of the exhaust on the G35Coupe has what to me is a "raspy" sound as it accelerates.
"Raspy" to me is sorta like the voice some smokers have which almost sounds like their throat is dry or scratchy.
The G stock exhaust in the low end sounds that way to me.
I prefer it either has a low end grumble (Borla I think exhibits this best, judging purely by the sound/video clips) or a strong roar (Stillen judging by the clips) but not ricey loudness/buzzing (InjenSES judging by the clips).

This is the type of thread that really really needs to be tempered with coupe or sedan when asking or telling of inpressions as the two cars have rather different oem and aftermarket sound qualities.

I've never heard any G or Z oem exhaust descrbed as raspy, with test pipes on yes, but never oem. Since I don't think any of us think the oem system has rasp, I'm left scratching my head as to how I can recommend a system. On the coupe I prefer the Stillen, Nismo and RSR, followed by the FUJITSUBO.

raspy

adj : unpleasantly harsh or grating in sound; "a gravelly voice"

I am going with Stillen. However, I do like the RSR which does not get enough attention.

Yup, that's exactly how I described it in my post, too.

And sorry I didn't specify it earlier: I'm talking about the coupe. =)
