Default Megan Racing exhaust +PICS

I picked up this exhaust last week. I really like it so far. It sounds very nice. Its almost not really noticable at idle. Its got a really deep tone. It can be quite when driven easily, but roars at WOT. I have test pipes, headers and a CAI to go with it.

The exhaust comes as Y-pipe back. But I also got the Megan Racing Y-pipe with it for a little extra.

I think for the price its a really great exhaust. Looks comparable to Fuji or Nismo, but at a fraction of the cost. Here are some pics that I have. I'll get some sound clips later

BTW, I have a G which is why there is a spacer in there. The exhaust is made for a Z.

I can get this for anyone if they're intrested. $600 shipped(cheaper than eBay). For those of you with G's, you'll need to buy the 6" exhaust extention sold at Performance Nissan.

Wow that looks pretty sweet. But I've never heard of Megan before. How's the performance?

Looks nice and the price seems good too. Anyone have any info on the performance/quality of this exhaust?

If you guys are in LA, you can come and check it out. I work in Pasadena. The quality is really good, especially for what you pay. Megan Racing has been around for a few years now, they were really small, but started getting a lot bigger these last few years. The recently moved to a pretty big warehouse like 6mo ago.

That's funny; I thought Cal had the strictest emission standards in the Nation. How does this affect your check engine light and ECU issues on the programming side?

That explains why some additional extension was required as well.

What are the gains with this exhaust and what's the sound comparable to? Thanks.

Cats must be on almost nationwide. Some states don't have smog such as Florida, and a few others.

Not having cats would trigger a CEL, unless you know how to make it not come up Anyhow, a secondary O2 CEL, would NOT effect programming in anyway. It mearly alerts you that the cats are not there or are not functioning properly. A primary O2 CEL on the other hand, would effect programming, but that wouldn't be caused by not having cats.

Lastly, removal of the cats has NOTHING to do with the need for extensions in the exhaust. The only reason for that being this exhaust was made for a 350Z, and as you can tell, its on a G35.

----------------------

I don't have any dyno comparisons to show you gains on paper. But obvious it "feels" faster. The sound is comparable to Fujitsubo.

It loooks like, from the pics, that your exhaust canister is dented. I swear it looks dented. Is this just a fluke or just the way it comes from factory? Seems a little weird. Am I the only one who noticed that?

Yeah, mine was a little dented =\ Not sure if it happened during shiping or what not, but it doesn't really both me anymore. It did during the install, and when I got it. But it doesn't effect performance what so ever, its only cosmetic, and you can't even see it once its on the car unless the car is on a lift. I'm gonna end up scraping the bottom eventually anyway.

How much did the y-pipe and exhaust cost you? Just wondering. Thanks.
