Default Official specs of Nissan GT-R revealed

We could swear that Inside Line didn't post official specs of the Nissan GT-R yesterday at the same time it published the first batch of official pics, but there they are today. Nothing shocking here, but we do have hard numbers now. The GT-R's twin-turbo 3.8L V6 will produce 473 horsepower and 434 ft-lbs. of torque. That's a bit more than the 450 HP many were anticipating, and we're guessing Nissan's official power rating is still a bit conservative, as well. 0 to 60 mph in 3.5 seconds is awfully quick, and there are plenty of supercars out there with more power that can't hit that mark. All-wheel-drive, of course, aids the delivery of each pony to the pavement, while the only transmission available will be a GR6 dual-clutch six-speed. Paddle shifters are evident in the pics we showed you yesterday, and Inside Line report that they're the same leather-wrapped aluminum ones as in the G35 sedan.

So there you have it. Nissan's embargo on information surrounding the GT-R has been laid to waste in less than 24 hours, and we now know exactly what it looks like and what type of hardware is under the hood. We're still going to Japan next week to see the GT-R unveiled in person, and hopefully we'll uncover some more worthwhile info about Nissan's badly kept secret.

... i'm not convinced & not buying into the anti-hype!!

473 HP/434 ft/lbs TQ can get an 3,800+ lb beast to 60 in 3.5 sec??

... on what planet does this occur?? i'm sticking to my assumption that Nissan is throwing out all this misinformation on purpose, would make the actual reveal oh so sweet!!

LoL damn...Neft and Das have been going at it these past 2-3 days. I think Neft is winning though mod. Nice info! I don't think it's gonna weigh close to 3800lbs. I remember seeing something like 3500lbs. Give or take a few from that.

too bad its not going to be faster than a zo6

still damn fast, impressive that they got 3800 lbs to hustle like that, must be a lot of tire. like huge r compound street tires.

^^^We shall see the official specs shortly. I'm just wondering if they'll release the specs for all of the trim lines or just some of them.

^^^That is twin turbos. They might not be sequential, but they are still twins.

been a while since I've been on the forum so I don't know what everyone's general feel is towards the gt-r but I just read this late last night:

Full Test: 2009 Nissan GT-R

0-60 in 3.3 seconds? wow.
