I keep mine off 95% of the time. The stillen sc has too much torque and can trigger the vdc on a normal take-off.

After reading all of the raving about how great it is to turn it off I finally tried it. I'd like to say that I noticed a difference, but it was probably mostly placebo effect

maybe he just used the wrong word. our cars are definitely more fun to drive with it off. i'd like to think that i'm just better at controlling the back end more than most. i wouldn't say that makes others bad drivers. i'd say they're just not as good as me when it comes to that. maybe that's what he means about others in relation to his skills???

I'm with you. If you want intrusive, drive a BMW! I was surprised at just how non-intrusive the VDC really is.

I just don't think to turn it off every time I drive the car, so it stays on most of the time. When at a light and I know I need a good start, then it's off, or I feel like kicking the tail loose around a corner. Other than that I don't worry about it. I agree with the others that it does like to kick in way to much. There is a controller out that will turn it off for you. I forgot where I saw it, but it does exist. It remembers your last setting.

It's made by KP Technologies

I can't link directly to the product, because the site is flash.
Click on products and then Traction Control
It's $39.99
