Is the BMW price difference made up for by the G37's fuel requirement?

It's weird because I just got the new Car & Driver a day ago and the guys at C&D don't feel the same about the new G37 as the MT guys do.

If you have a chance to see it take a look, but it's always good to get another perspective.

The actual OTD price differential between the G37 and the 335i is always much greater than the mags show due to the fact that the G37 can be had at invoice whereas the 335i is never discounted that much. Too many lemmings out there for the BMW dealers to have to cut any break there. The mags usually just post the MSRPs for comparison...not realistic at all. When all is said and done, and with equally equipped models, the 335i runs about $8000 more. That's a lot of gas!

That just shows how little you know about BMW. You can easily get a 335i for invoice. You can get European Delivery for around 2,000-3,000 UNDER invoice. Of course, Infiniti doesn't give you any options like that but then again, most manufacturers don't.

Realistically though , how many people can just up and take the time needed to do the ED program, and how much more extra $ would you end up spending on your 'vacation' anyway? That few thousand discount can go away pretty quickly.

While I'm NOT from Missouri,....as far as "easily" getting a 335i coupe "for invoice", I defy you to show me that one, at least the the SF Bay area!... Maybe out in Iowa, I sure can't say about that. Must be sweet out there?

BMW guys always rave about ED....but having to go over to europe to get the car?....ummmm, yeah...that's not doable for the avg. buyer.

it looks like the general public disagrees with MotorTrend's opinion.

Ok 750, I get what you mean, just didn't know exactly what you were referring to. And to your point, I refer back to my original comment about lemmings!

Now, one last thought for the forum before anyone gets their panties in a bunch; I fully recognize that the 335i coupe is a great car. I just think it's a rather poor value. If you don't buy into the whole 'cache' of the BMW badge, I can't justify the high price differential for what it may or may not have over the G37.
