The gas companies do some shady stuff. The gas prices here have been so consistently high that we are on the verge of putting a gas price cap on the industry. Experts are saying that this will end up eventually increasing the price of gas through elimination of competition. Kind of funny when you consider that we only have two refineries.

Supply and demand! The oil companies have everyone by the [jump2][jump2] and as long as we continue to buy low MPG SUVs and sport cars they're not going to budge. They are in the business to make money just like the next guy.

Shell may have determined that it is cheaper for them to buy from another supplier versus process it in the Bakerfield refinery. It costs a lot of money to continually upgrade a refinery to keep up with the ever changing fuel regulations in CA.

Hmmmm....I never thought about the option for Shell to buy their fuels from a competitor. That makes a bit more sense when they are looking at shutting down the plant with their largest profit margin.

Gas? Your cars run on gas? Why didn't you opt for the hydrogen powered G35? My car is so cheap to run and operate. Better luck in the future.

I stopped by to take a look at the new Pontiac GTO a few weeks back. The MRSP had a $1,000 dollar gas guzzler tax added to the invoice for the automatic. The sales person said it was not included on the standard. [dunno]
