Porsche tiptronic is the biggest rip off. A girl I know has a C4S with tiptronic. She paid $3k+ for the tiptronic. It's the biggest rip off. It doesn't even rev match and it's worse than manumatics that come in $35k cars. Wait a little and they'll have the dual clutch system soon. Of course they'll charge $5k for it.

I thought the same as you all before i got in one...and AMG that is. They have the most advanced transmission ive ever driven...When in "S" mode the tranny does upshift or downshift...you feel like you are driving a manual. Then paddle shifters actually work just as well as a manual...they are nothing like other companies clutchless shifting. If you read some of the magazines when they run the quater..they always use the manual paddle shift to run their 12 sec runs.

I got mine for two reasons...all work related.

1. Sick of having to upgrade exhaust systems to get a decent sound and power...and then having it be too loud for passengers and to talk onthe work cell.
2. I got be shifting while i am talking, emailing, and whatever else while driving.

...what really got was....THEY ARE FUCKING ROCKET SHIPS!! Besides a Z06 and lambos..next to nothing can run with them.

hey i saw a silver c55 today... you're right, the difference in the front bumper is a bit noticable (if you know what you're looking for)... it was 100% stock and it sounded GOOD!!

i would definitely not mind an AMG right now. i am in your boat, an auto is soon going to be a necessity for me.

Like me and Zoomers have experienced already...i do not want you to get a highly tuned 6 cylinder M3 and have the engine break on you...because it is a frequent occurence. You might think i'm nuts but you could get an 05 or 06 C6 vette...It will absolutely destroy an M3 in acceleration, out brakes nearly all cars, and out handled the M3 in all the head to head tests. Just a thought...but you either are a vette guy..or aren't a vette guy. You sound like you want a straight sports car...can't beat the C6 vette.

Look up 05 and 06 C55's ...you can get a steal on them. Black is the color to get.

Just saw a cool new commercial on tv for the C63 AMG. It's all deep-throated exhaust, smokin tires into clouds, and drifting around sideways...could of thought that it was a Mustang commercial; definitely not a typical MB commercial. What did they say...454 hp? That's what I call a motivational speaker.

That car is straight sick 454hp and nerly 500lbs trq and runs a low 12 sec quarter at nearly 120mph. That will be my next purchase....they did hell of a job with that new C class body.

^^^ Translation... the chics grew up, dropped like 50 lbs., bolted on some DD's, bleached her hair/teeth, and has been hitting the gym like she's got mad cow disease.

I'm not getting an M3 so I dont have to worry about that

Someone had suggested to me to get a Vette as my next car. Its a thought but I'm not a big muscle car kind of person. I like my luxury as well. I know GM has done better with the interior but its still not up to par with the germans. Obviously the performance is a killer! But I wouldn't rule it out
