ill look into the 06's. i did not realize i was only off by 1 year on the new body style. i am just not sure if i like the new 3 series sedans though... something about them looks funny to me.

you'll have plenty of times in years to come to get the "classy" 4 dr german sedan. why not get something fun now while you dont have to lug around the wife and kids???

to be honest, the 330 was pretty fun. i am driving it again tomorrow as well as the benz. but for what it is, the bmw was alright. you can def hear the exhaust much like the G and it's got torque.
not so much on the benzo.
i need 4 doors due to my dog. i am so annoyed with the whole 2 door thing.

That 330i IS a 335i..at least the 4 doors are...they are identical except for the exhaust...and even i will admit that the 330i's with the 18's are sweet looking. Get the newest body you can

Couple things for you.
First, the red/black scale rates the particular car's reliability relative to the average of all cars reported on.
Where:
full red is much better than average
half red is better than average
no color is average
half black is worse than average
full black is much worse than average
Second, consider carefully that the '06 was the first year of a major redesign...historically not always a good thing. The '06 3-series reliability shows up without any backs at all, but it does have five neutral ratings for Electrical, Suspension, Body Hardware, Power Equipment, and Audio System; and this is for a cars only two years old! It will be interesting to see how this model "ages" in their rating system.
As far as the looks go, I know exactly what you mean...something odd about them. I saw one the other day and what popped into my head was that it looks dolphin like or like some kind of porpoise, not the pointy kind, but sort of blunt, dull, rounded, and plump yet streamlined. The 'dolphin grey' color is fitting too I guess. That's how I see 'em now, can't get the image out of my head. Oh well.
update, the red bmw is at a friend of mine's family dealership. he is going to try to match the price of the benz although it will probably be right at their cost. i think i would go for the bmw if that were the case. anyone know legitimately if there are any major issues with either of these cars. please no 'bmws are always in the shop'...
i've had plenty of issues with my G. no car is perfect.
those statements aren't just made for no reason. if you don't want to believe its your perogative. I've seen my share as well. check out some consumer reviews if you don't believe..edmunds, etc... if you think you had issues with an Infiniti your in for a world of suprise. then again you could get that lucky coin flip one that actually IS trouble free.

YOu need to like 3 months until the new M3 comes out in full force...then you will be able to get an 05 M3 for in the mid 20's easy

well what i meant was i only want to know about personal experience, not what you've heard. if i believed what i've heard, german cars are in the shop every week and japanese cars never have any issues whatsoever. this is not my experience comparing my audi to my g35c.
