Nothing wrong with 3.7L it's that the mag guys are saying V8 + 4.1+L.

Sounds awesome!!!!!!! Nissan has to do something huge...too many fast competitors out there now. A 3100lbs 370hp V8 which are likely guesses, sounds like a legit monster.

I would rather Nissan cut weight (a lot of it) than try to compensate by putting larger and larger engines in the car. In other words, don't do it the American way, do it the Japanese way.

Hate to rain on your parade GZ, but wouldn't it be called the European way? The Japanese only copied what the Europeans originally started.

Cutting weight yes, but not boosting the car (or at least not to the extent the Japanese are boosting their cars).

But when the hell is this whole horsepower war going to end. Didn't anyone learn from the gas shortages in the past?

It's a cycle simpson. It'll swing back the other way soon enough, but till then just sit back and enjoy the ride.

most likely will be a 370Z, their are some spy shots of the test mule around. it's but ugly, but still not a finished product i'm sure.

I hate the profile of it. looks like someone pinched off a turd.

The article said that a Nissan engineer stated that the next Z will have a 4.0L motor. If they just shoehorn the G37's 3.7 V6 it wouldn't be much of a drastic change.

The oil shortage of the 70's is different than now. The cars back then were complete gas whores compared with what we have now. Catalytic convertor technology was also horrible compared to today.

The hp wars of the 90's coupled overpriced cars with a recession. This second scenario seems to be more along the lines of what we'll see soon.
