If you had to race from NY to LA.....what car would you pick. Remember that the car will have to be cruising down the highway at speeds around 120+mph for 10 hours a day for 3 days, so reliability is an issue.
i guess comfort is not an issue for you!! if reliability is in question, lambo cannot even be considered. i'd say the same for ferrari.
it'd be a toss up between a C-GT for fun (not comfy though) or an audi R8. the interior on these looks great and the seats look pretty good too. the motor could definitely take it.
audi it is.

on second thought, all that's important is doing 120 and not breaking down on a 3 day trip? i'm thinking more of a comfort thing. any car will be uncomfortable after you sit in in for 10 hrs... but i think i might change mine to an S550 or a 760Li... i like the feel of a big solid german car at high speed on the highway. not exactly fun, but very comfortable... kind of like cruising speed on a jet.

Running that fast in a vehicle will kill mpg's. The Ford would probably be getting 8 mpg, so with 340 gallons of fuel onboard you go go about 2700 miles on one fill up.
