All smoking aside, the ADD generation fails to read the entire article. And some even fail to think for themselves. NOT SO FAST, MY FRIEND!.. Is this the reference you were speaking of?

Since you want to talk, GT-R, ok, let's. To make sure that I am communicating clearly so that you can understand me, I'll explain that my bias leans towards the environment in which the cars were meant to be driven; a track, with left AND right turns; sorry NASCAR fans. The true measure of a car lies in its all around performance, not just it's 0-60, 1/4 mile, or braking from 60mph distance. Comparing 0-60 is like comparing who can orgasm the fastest; utterly pointless. But let's delve into this article, and discuss what is REALLY being said behind the veil of super sexy wording, shall we?

It's even quicker than the Porsche 911 Turbo tiptronic, but not by much.

TIPTRONIC. Who drives a tiptronic Porsche Turbo? To further illustrate this point:

So, let's compare apples to apples with these two. Manual GT-R vs. manual 911 Turbo:

As the test numbers prove, the 911 Turbo is monster fast, flashing through the quarter-mile in 11.7 seconds and hitting 100 mph from rest in just 7.8 seconds. The 0-to-30-mph time is an incredible 1.1 seconds, compared with 1.7 seconds for the two other cars. Midrange performance is equally impressive, the Turbo running 50 to 70 mph in top gear in just 5.4 seconds. It matches the Corvette up to 120 mph, then the Z06 pulls away.

Porsche is pushing the cabrio for 08, so no new numbers for the 08 hard top.

a 911 turbo cant run with a vette? what planet do you live on?
and if you honestly think that if someone is looking at a ferrari that is equally priced with a vette and they would pick the vette you are smoking some good shit. matter of fact. let me have some of wha tyou are burning

Ok, fine, I concede. The Porsche CAN run with the Vette'; for a few seconds. Than, it's all over. Need some numbers for that argument? Or maybe.. you could do some of your own research, and look at the numbers for yourself. Motor Trend, Car and Driver, Edmunds, Automotive.com.
Second, yes, there are people who would pick a Vette' over a Ferrari, REGARDLESS OF COST. Two different markets, two different desires. The Ferrari is about flash, and looks. Sort of like that really hot girl that everyone wants to screw, but nobody wants to be in a relationship with. The Vette' is about substance, power, and speed.
And lastly, as stated previously, the GT-R is not available stateside. That said, whatever numbers are out, at this point are strictly speculation, and should be taken with a grain of salt. Nissan is notorious for sending the Americans dumbed down, water down versions of the original, or in some cases, not sending it at all.
I'd still like to see your demographics numbers on the Vette' if you've got them. You seem to be in the loop and know how that market is shaking out. Whatcha got?
