so at 3100 pounds with 620 hp you guys are saying the GTR will still be faster? stop swinging from Nissan's balls for a second, the ZR1 would smoke a GTR! the gtr does the 1/4 in the high 11's VS. the ZR1 in the high 10's.
I don't know which would be faster. At this point I would do the 1/4 mile faster than the Vette since it isn't even in production yet.
The problem with all these high hp/RWD cars is that they have traction issues. A good example are the Vipers which from what I've heard had better results skip shifting and some guys even run 2nd gear from a stop.
GT-R does have an advantage off the line with the AWD setup, but if the ZR-1 can find a way to hookup all that power it's a no brainer which car would be faster.

yeah i agree it said the ZR-1 does the 1/4 in 10.5 or 10.6 thats sick. we all know the vette would kill the GTR in the 1/4 but like you said.
its about putting the power to the ground. if the Z06 cant put all its power to the ground neither will this.
which mean it wont get a better time around the nurb.

highly doubt that man. in order for the vette to compete with a ferrari the interior would have to be totally upgraded and plush, the ride quality would have to be superb. and that would put it in the league of a Ferrari. and im meaning close in price.
and no one in their right mind would buy a vette thats closely price to a ferrari over a ferrari.
the average owner of a vette has an income of around 50-70k. you are able to afford a vette at that price but not a ferrari. if that was the case you would even see more Z06's on the road
a vette that cost 100k is plain stupid. you couldnt get me to buy one. and not many other will. not when you can get a 911 turbo for 120k or an even faster Nissan GTR for 80k
oh and adding, i hate that the vette is starting to look more and more like a ferraris. the 2013 vette looks just like one. which is sad b/c chevy need to stay in their own lane not copy someone else

you are dead on with your ferrari comments and it being a status symbol...thats all ferrari has, because MANY other companies have surpassed them on the performance aspect.
When you pull up in a 360 Modena (or whatever ferrari) you are showing up for real, people arent saying "man, my uncles Z06 would rape that" they are saying "damn that thing looks sweet, what a pussy magnet"
When a Z06 pulls up people say "man thats a fast vette"...and thats about it.
But just the pure fact of knowing that if you ended up on the same stretch of open highway with one of the Prancing Arabian Horses, he would likely try to avoid you..as to not have his ass handed to him.
People buy these "supervettes to go fast"...many of them can afford the more prestigious cars but they want the "baddest" car out.
A ferrari has that smooth, beauty, elegant appeal....whereas a super vette has that badboy appeal so sometimes that has a lot to do with it to...what do you want your car to say about you. A supervette also says "i'm a hillbilly that made it"...

on the contrary i have driven ferraris a couple times an di have to say the interior is alot better than vettes so is the ride quality.
and i didnt say the ferrari had supreb interior. I said that if a vette was priced equally with a ferrari the vettes interior had to be superb-better than the Ferrari and ride quality would have to be tons better in order to start playing on a consumers mind whether to pick it over the ferrari. I know i wouldnt
and the GTR and 911 i know wouldnt beat the Z06 in brute force, 1/4 and straight line speed but on a track the vette cant hang with the GTR and 911

ferrari and lambo both have pretty basic interiors. utilitarian would be a good description.
porsche has better interiors than both.

i know especially lambo quality was basic. especially before audi took them over. I remember back in the day when my friends parents got one and i saw how lambo had alot of poor quality parts.
one thing i still remember back then was how the rubber window seals were so deteriorated. i was just shocked that such an expensive car had parts that was so minor in such shitty condition.

but they(lambo) are ten times better now.
yah they're better since the buy out. still basic but atleast nicer looking. it's really weird to sit in a gallardo and see the exact same odo/trip screen as my a4 had haha...

haha yeah, me and one of my other homeboys who owns an A4 actaully kinda picks on my friend about that. but he always get back at us. by telling us that him and his audi gauge gets to pull up to the club with the lambo while he lets up pull up in the 911. the 911 turbo is black, kitted and has black techart rims and all but still isnt the same as pulling up with a Lambo. so he always gets the last laugh ha
when my boy first got the gallardo he wanted to race it against his 911 turbo. me driving the 911 and when i saw the gallardo was popping blue flames i was in love. eventhough the 911 was faster.
i remember when i first drove it. fast that is. but the view out of the car is already hard enough driving sitting still but driving fast and looking out of the windows took alot of adjusting to. it was damn near fish eye vision on at like 70mph
but when you know you're car is popping blue flames out of the exhuast all you can think of is "this bitch is tight"

check yourself they tested a Z06 vs a GT3 around a track in motor trend and the Z06 beat it
