Based on what the germans are currently doing, and Lexus bringing in the F model, Infiniti might have to follow suit if the F brand does actually sell well.
lexus F line does not look impressive on paper and i don't think it's going to impress many when it actually comes to fruition over here. the ISF is just a hair quicker than the IS350 with diff body kit and wheels. and an ugly exhaust. it's nothing like the germ's performance lines.

O, my bad, i meant R55, i think due to poor sales, they didnt continue with the R63.
I get why they do it, it just makes everything less special if you know what I mean.
i agree it is kind of boring with the same engine across the board. i am for an amg version of each model, but different engines would make things more interesting.

i definitely see the appeal of the 335i. she's a sweet package. and i've finally seen the G37 coupe in person and i'm not that all impressed. i'd take my G over a G37 any day of th week.
p.s. Looksfast, an SL55 AMG (i'm guessing it was the 55, but i know for certain it had a V wanted to race me the other day. i just gunned it away from some congestion and then this convertible gets right on my starboard side. i could hear his engine and two things prevented me from going at it, 1. the wife in the passenger seat and 2. our exit for home was less than 2 miles away. who knows, i might of taken him

Completely agree, i think its just plain ugly. The wider front end is necessary, but looks horrible. I think Lexus execs said that if they sell 200-300 a month, they would be happy and that could lead to more F line cars.
im saying it would start creeping into the GTR's territory. if the GTR sells very well, maybe it's a possibility.
but they won't turbo the current g37, if it does happen it would be when they do a complete redesign and from what i've heard it will not have the same 3.7L anyways. aren't they planning a 4.0L g40 for the next one? i think they are sticking with the NA route for the g coupe.
i hope not.
a 4 liter V6 is too big. if that was the case they might as well step it up to a 4.2 V8. which i hope they dont do b/c they'll find themselves in the same boat as BMW with the M3.
so instead of them giong 4lliter V6 i mos def see them staying with a 3.7 liter and just going turbo.
i agree with you on the F series. im not impressed at all. plus i wouldnt ever look to Lexus for sports cars anways
to me its like Lexus is the Merc of Japan while INfiniti is the BMW of Japan.
I think that infinti will remain more sport-luxury than Lexus. they(lexus) make more of Luxury cars than they do sports luxury. like Merc
i like the way Nissan is doing it, the way it should be done!!
The Skyline 370GT is only marginally faster than the 350GT... a progression (regardless of what you might say about the styling, it is), not stepping on the toes of any models & of course, nothing is going to touch that damn GT-R for a good f*cking while... including the Skyline, Fuga, Fairlady, & anything else in Nissan's model line!!
BMW shot themselves in the foot b'cuz there is really no performance gain for the M3, they effectively made the M3 obsolete, played right into Nissan's hands!! & apart from penis envy, who in their right mind would pay $70,000 for an M3 when a chipped 335i will net you better gains, & comes w/ foglights... sheet!!
Mercedes-Benz has gotten to the point that if you don't have an AMG, why bother!! Plus who really gives a sh*t about them anyway except automotive namebrand whores!! Good thing is, Benz has no problem getting into a p*ssin' contest w/ anyone... bad thing is, they make cars that are unable to harness the power, & it works against them... HP wars are of no interest to me, i just want to get a GT-R so i can finally shut my boy up by smokin' his stankin' *ss Brabus POS!! Spent enough money to buy a house on a f*cking car... must be cray!!
Lexus... next!!
Only thing i got for them is to
1. Bring back the Soarer, not that bubbly sh*t that they refuse to let go... the real one, the one Bill Gates drives... the one that had a TT setup... the hottest car they ever made!!
2. Put the balls back in the Aristo... i remember when those b*tches were fierce!!
3. Keep the names... you can't really expect to sell back @ homebase when you get rid of the names... you think replacing the sexy names like Aristo, Celsior, Soarer, Altezza w/ GS430, LS460. SC430, IS350 is going to really help you... there, i solved your problem... moving on!!

Hey I just say give credit where it's due. The G's a good car and from what we can see it'll continue to carry on the trend of being the best "bang for the buck" car out there. The Bimmer has just up'd the ante, which is a characteristic of Bimmers. So all in all, this is a good thing. We'll just have to wait and see what Infiniti will do to catch up.
For once i agree with you 100%....the "new" G coupe will be straight nasty....whenever it comes out. I bet they put a tuned version of the M45's V8 in it.

sounds like someone woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning
Horsepower wars all cyclical. The Germans got it started and we're already seeing the rest play follow the leader. Soon or later, it'll have to be curtailed. As it is currently, most of the cars out can't handle the power under their hoods. It'll become senseless to shove more power into chassis that can't produce any gains with it.
What is good, for the most part, is that big power is now beginning to trickle down into the mid and lower market segments. Which should mean more dead high school kids, but who cares about them? I'd rather have them driving off of fwy onramps than going on a shooting spree in malls. But again the dark side of the force will inevitably bare it's fangs and the EPA will most likely outlaw all fosil fuel burning combustion motors so again who cares. Enjoy it while it lasts.
