i am not a 'bmw guy' by any stretch, but i think the 335 looks way better than the 37. the looks of the new coupe just havent seemed to grow on me. the g35 looks way better than the last body style 330 coupe though.

agreed. the G35 looks better than the G37. The G37 almost has hints of a Camry. BMW makes a solid car, with plenty of history behind it, while Infiniti/Nissan has just recently been reinventing itself. So one would lean towards BMW obviously. But I would hate to be "just another BMw", or "just another Mustang" on the road, where most of the drivers are uninformed about what other cars are available. Its cool the have a car with some power, handling and uniqueness too. live and learn ya'll.

I'd take "just another bmw" if it ran a 13.4 quarter @ 106.
you should delete this thread before zooms sees it.....
Too late!
Hey I just say give credit where it's due. The G's a good car and from what we can see it'll continue to carry on the trend of being the best "bang for the buck" car out there. The Bimmer has just up'd the ante, which is a characteristic of Bimmers. So all in all, this is a good thing. We'll just have to wait and see what Infiniti will do to catch up.

unfortunately, i think that the g37 looks like a sebring in the back. i park next to one every day and i always think chrysler when i see it. :-/
g35 still takes the cake (namely 2005 ivory pearl ones)

It's really beginning to remind me of the 90's with the manufacturers upping the ante on their cars. I'm hoping we don't run into the brick wall that happened back there and there is a roll back on performance.
We are really getting into that realm where the manufacturers are starting to cut their own necks with lower tier cars cutting into the performance car market.

i wouldnt hold your breath about the whole turbo G thing... would probably start competing with the gtr.
i couldnt imagine throwing to small snails on the G37 would make it competition with the GTR
the G37 would have to be totally redone from the ground up to compete with the GTR.
starting with a new body for aerodynamics, let alone a much better chassis, plush interior and goodies not to mention a sofisticated transmission like the GTR
i highly doubt a turbo G37 would be a competitor to the GTR. the G37 is no where close to being a competitor to the GTR like the 335i is to the M3
im saying it would start creeping into the GTR's territory. if the GTR sells very well, maybe it's a possibility.
but they won't turbo the current g37, if it does happen it would be when they do a complete redesign and from what i've heard it will not have the same 3.7L anyways. aren't they planning a 4.0L g40 for the next one? i think they are sticking with the NA route for the g coupe.

It seems that companies are starting to lose sight of specialized performance cars should be. I mean, look at Merc and how they are tossing an AMG engine in everything they make. I understand that people want their cars fast, but does anyone really need an R 63 AMG minivan?

Based on what the germans are currently doing, and Lexus bringing in the F model, Infiniti might have to follow suit if the F brand does actually sell well.
