I was looking to buy a g35 soon i had some basic questions if anyone could help me.

Is there any difference between the 03 and 04, and is there a noticeable performance difference between the 6 speed and the 5 speed?

Are there any key features on the car i should make sure it has, and are there any common defects i should look for when purchasing.

yah 03/04 is basically the same. the 6 speed has better wheels, spoiler, brembo brakes etc.

03/04 are failry squeeky, u will see when u drive around enough. Just be aware that you will get that in the cabin, and dont get freaked out by it. It is an annoyance, but when ur driving and u have ur music up, u will never notice it. I dont.

Well if the 5 speed has the sports package, it will have the 18inch rims, and spoiler, right? Just not the brembos? the 6 speed also has a LSD, right? I have a 5 speed 04, i forgot what they offered on the 6mt.

Actually, the 03/04 w/ the sports package gets the Brembos as well!!

as far as performance goes 5AT has 260hp 6MT has 296hp

298 hp engine is 2005 and above.

Actually, the 03/04 5AT coupes had 280HP, & so did the 6MT (the sedans had 260HP)... the 6MT didn't get a bump in HP til '05!!

The center console is also different between 03-04. 03 doesn't have the armrest and the button placement is a bit different too.
Conmmon problems that people seem to have are loud/rattling clutch, squeaking/loud chassis, excessive oil consumption, excessive speeding tickets.....
