Default 2006 Z06

Here's a review out of the L.A. Times. Hopefully you don't have to have an on-line subscription to view.

http://www.latimes.com/classified/au...-home-highway1

Here's the specs from Car and Driver ( )

2006 Chevrolet Corvette Z06
Base price: $65,800
Price as tested: $69,995 (estimated)
Powertrain: 7.0-liter, 16-valve pushrod V-8; six-speed manual transmission; rear-wheel drive.
Horsepower: 505 horsepower at 6,300 rpm
Torque: 470 pound-feet at 4,800 rpm
Weight: 3,147 pounds
0-60 mph: 3.4 seconds
Wheelbase: 105.7 inches
Overall length: 175.6 inches
EPA fuel economy: 16 miles per gallon city, 26 mpg highway
Final thoughts: Carbon-fiber catapult

If I had the money, I'd buy this car. Or wait and see what the Skyline GTR has to offer. The Z06 seems like a good value - assuming you can afford and upkeep a $70,000 car.

I'll take one. Actually that's what I'm saving up for among other things.

I'm not sure the GT-R will be able to compete with the C6 Z06. The C6 Z06 is mean to be a pure sports car.

The GT-R has been getting more and more portly as time has gone on. While the handling system for the latest GT-R (r34) was fantastic, you can only do so much to overcome weight.

I don't like Chevy's for one and I just don't think it is that asthetically pleasing to me. I like the viper. I like the lines and the sound of a viper the purr is amazing.

Burns your leg when you have a skirt on and get out but other than that I love them. The corvette is just too tame. The viper is like a wild animal.

Vipers don't have the exhaust on the sides anymore. They only did that the first few years and then they changed it because of the fact that people were getting burned. The Viper is nice too but I think that I would still go for the Z06!

The year I like has the sides. It's the 96 gts. blue with white stripes. Very sexy and sounds sexy as hell.

The C6 Z06 is a pure track car unlike the C5 Z05's. The Viper is cool, but can be really scary since it doesn't have any of the modern driver's aids.

Alright I'll admit it's safer to drive a vette but where's the fun in that. I want the animalistic power and growl of the viper.

iono i think the corvette has better looks. i think the only reason why i would pick a viper is that the corvette is too common. i mean you see corvettes but you dont notice to much when you see a z06. but overall if there wasnt many corvettes on the road. i would pick the vette either way.. faster cheaper looks better. only problem is 2 common for me..
