Depends on what you want. American or JDM??? I'm not a fan of American cars, but if you really want speed then go for the Z06, then again S/c your G and call it a day

The Z06 is an awesome vehicle, brilliant!
It will be my next step up for when I get bored with my RX-7.

Default Z06 vs G35

Of course everything is subjective, but I can't afford a Z06 (2005). A friend of mine has a 2004 Z06 and of course I love it. I have a 2005 G35 Sport Coupe 6MT. I love it as well and I like the G styling over the Z06 (2004). However, I like the 2005 Z styling as much or more than the G, but the price differential is too great. I have two kids and love to go for a ride with the family on nice days. You can't do that in a Z06. My wife (the one who allowed me to get a G35) will let me Supercharge or Turbocharge the G when the manufacturer's warranty runs out. My goal is to add enough modifications to break the 400 HP barrier. That will probably take me about 15k to do, but add 15k to the 36k originally paid and I have incredible performance for less money than the Z06. Without getting too lengthy (I already have, sorry), the friend of mine that has the Z06 is going to get the new Z06 (he has no financial limits being an NFL player) and offered to sell me his Z06 for less than it cost me to get my new 2005 G35. As you can tell from above, I opted for the G35 instead. I outrun him on the SCCA tracks and that makes me feel just fine.

Bottom line, 2004 Z06 vs 2005 G35 --- 2005 G35.

2006 Z06 vs. 2005 G35 --- 2006 Z06.... if only I had the money.

Default correction to last post

in the beginning of my last post, I noted a 2005 Z06 and of course it should read 2006.

Sorry about that.

The Z06 will be faster, turn better, stop faster and most likely get the same or better gas mileage than a G in cruise mode.

I guess it is safe to say you have not driven a late model Vette.

actually, i almost bought a 04 before i bought the Infiniti..very disappointed with everything, except the power. a buddy of mine works at a chevy dealership and could've got me a great deal, but after driving it around for the day, there was no way i would have spent that much for such a poorly built vehicle..exterior is beautiful but thats all i can say positively about vettes, oh yeah, and ofcourse the power!

I would take a new Vette over the G35 anyday for a sportscar. My last one, 03 Z06, had not a problem with it. I would run it faster and harder than any G35 could go, stock for stock, in the mountain twisties. But each person has there own wants and desires, so if driving whatever you choose makes you happy, then a I am happy for you. Be safe and have a great day.
