Default G37 Front Bumper Damage

This is my first post on here so I apologize if this has been posted previously...

Yesterday someone backed into my 2008 G37 (Black Journey edition) and tore a small hole in the front bumper (along with a dent. Its right below the driver side headlight).

First question, does anyone know how much this is going to cost me to fix? And second, if any of you live in the DC Metro area, any suggestions on body shops would be very much appreciated.

Here are the two pictures...an upclose and a farther out to give you a sense of the size.

I was hoping I could get away with bondo/sanding/repaint...

I had a bumper with just an impression "wound" and was told it could be fixed by just one shop. All the other shops (3 or 4 places) recommended to replace since the repair tended to be temporary at best. Since you have an actual tear I'd say don't even attempt to repair and just replace it.

FYI...Bondo won't work on bumpers since they are flexible and it isn't. There is some other crap they use in the same basic manner.

Replace the bumper. I got a scratch and crack in my rear bumper the first day I got my car. The labor cost in the repair would be more than removing and replacing the bumper, plus it'll be better in the long run.

Still find a decent shop because eventhough it's going to be a remove and replace they still have to be good at paint matching. Sorry to hear that and good luck.

Thanks all for the advice.

I took the car out to get a few estimates and to replace the bumper I was quoted between 770 - 830 for the bumper/man hours/paint. Does that sound fairly reasonable?

If anyone is in the DC Metro area and has some body shop recommendations (I received estimates from T&J in Arlington and NT in Alexandria).

Thanks again.

Sounds about right. My rear bumper is going to cost ~810 to replace. Taking it in tomorrow in fact. I'm not in the DC area however so I don't know of any shops there. Good luck.
