Lightbulb New 37s - New to Compact Flash

Good Day Everyone and Happy Labor Day!

Anyhow, I purchased my g37s about two weeks ago and havnt gotten around to getting a card. I have read some places that the unit will only recognize 2GB cards. Is this true?

Any and all information would be appreciated. IE - How to get music from my pc's harddrive to a compact flash card and visa versa. New to this technology although I live in the IT world.

Anyhow, pictures soon and glad to be a member here.

LOVE MY 37 (I've been driving pathfinders my entire life...)

umm i forget the exact size it can take up to.. but i think 2GB is about right....

which defeats teh purpose, IMO.....i could see using it here and there but not all the time.

the harddrive is an option.. but a huge pain in the ass, IMO. i also don't like how the the songs off of the hardrive don't segue into each other.. there is a second of silence. even on albums that songs seque.
beyond that.. the hard drive is a pain because you have to load eveythign one by one.

really, the best option (and what i've used).. is the iPod connection. i have a 16GB iPhone.. with over 11GBs on music (almost 8 days i think)... so i just use that. plus with the bluetooth connection, i never have to touch the phone... the phone and ipod are all accesible from the Nav screen.

I have a G35s 6mt, but it is the same deal. The limit is not the size of the CF card, but the number of individual files on it. Based on the manual, you can't have more than 512 files (songs). I didn't know this because I bought a 32gig CF card for $100, but was disappointed when I saw that it only was reading the first 512 songs, and ignored the rest. My bet is that it is pressure from the music industry, and probably the same reason you can't add music files to the HDD, only have the stereo rip your music.

So, can you at least upload your mp3s from the flash card to the internal HD? If not, what's the purpose of advertising the 9gb HD? How do you add data to the HD?

CDs....
one at a time.
and it sucks too, bc it's puts an empty second in between each song.... so anysong that seques into each other cuts out for a second. pretty dumb.

like i said, ipod is the best way... but i loaded some CDs into "Music Box" as back up.

That DOES suck...so the CD's literally are uploaded WHILE they play? Damn, you'd think they would have that fixed. Maybe by '10 model year.

well yeah but it rips at a faster rate... so the CD is done ripping by the 2nd or 3rd song... but until it's done ripping, you can't change tracks or anything.

Well that's not too bad. I thought you literally had to have it play all the tracks normally and it uploaded while it was playing them.

just hate Ipod because of their DRM and the way it controls your music collection. I want my music to be controlled by me, and be seen as a series of files, which is what it is.

Nissan/Infiniti could solve this by...
- Allowing full sized CF cards with gigs of data in the system. They just made a new 100 gig CF card.
- Allowing DATA DVDs in the front or back that can play mp3s
- Having a straight USB connection that can read any mp3 player like a HD.
