Default I know it's early for 2009...

Ok guys/gals, I just found this site this morning. My question is next year my child support will go away and I'll have close to 1K per mo. extra. So I'm going to buy a G37 for myself as a gift of 16 years of pain paying the B*^#H.
My question is I really like the '08 G37 but am wondering if the '09's are going to have something "more" like more HP. I have driven the car but to me it feels like it could use more power. RRRRR.
Once I get the car I am going to upgrade everything that I can. What are some of the best things that I can do to this car even if I void the warranty. I really don't care much about the warranty just pure power and handling.

any suggestions would be great. I don't want to rice it out either I want class and style but not a chop up.

i've never heard of a car company making any noticable changes for the 2nd year of a paticular model. although they may work some of the bugs out, if there are any on the 08's.
HP changes - no
appearance changes - no

Maybe you want to look at some other models that are in the same price range but are quicker/more potential. like the 335i or 370Z (should be out by that time)...

I hope we don't see a kid come on here say...

Hey guys I just turned 16 and I think I want to buy a G37 because my pops has been paying my mom for the past 16 years ($1k a month). What do you guys think?

J/K...

What 7fiddy said above. Not many changes usually takes place the 2nd year of production. Good luck. It must feel good to get that monkey off your back.

Yep, probably won't see any changes until the 3rd year production model if it follows the same G35c plan, unless overall sales just plain sucks, they may have to make changes/revisions/upgrades to it sooner to get more people to buy it. I'd buy it if they changed the whole backend. Then I'd have to figure out how to reduce the weight. Did anyone ever find out an article on where the extra 300lbs came from anyways? I mean, isn't the car essentially the same lenght and width as the G35c? That weight couldn't just be from the additional engine displacement could it?
I thought I had read that the crash testing ratings on the coupe [not the sedan which is what everybody always sees advertised] weren't very good - basically the same crash testing ratings the 350z got, so they went in and added additional metal support in the doors and thus the extra weight. Any confirmation on this?

Since I've been off of RedBull my brain doesn't seem to work like it used to. I can't even work a model on Excell and I'm the one who created.

At the very least the price will be a bit more negotiable next year, right? If I could get it OTD for the MSRP price I would be pleased. I don't think that's very likely though.

actually Infiniti itself changed the car within a year of the G35 being released. they changed the trunk on the sedan and tweaked other things. they then added tire pressure montiors and other features as standards for 04 (1 year after having come out). and then the hp increase of 05

honestly, that's what kind of made me not get a G37 is that every model year is dated compared with the next. right up until the end they changed the taillights, the headlights, the interior....i think '06-'07 were the only years no changes were made
