You all know how I feel about the weight so I won't get into it, but I bet once the car (G37) get's around the true enthusiasts will be a little frustrated. I mean think about it. If you think the G35 in NA form was already tuned to the max from the factory, just imagine what the new G37 will be like. I doubt you can squeeze any usable hp from that new motor. It's been stroked, tuned and squeezed to the max from the factory. I doubt anything short of FI will net you any hp gains. So from the view point of modding goes, it's a done deal. Which by the way, takes all the fun out owning a car for most of us enthusiasts. I'm not siding for the Bimmer, but it sucks when there's no fun in modding a car you own.

The G37 on Staggered 20's and lowered would look good. Depending on the new ECU, you might be able to get a few extra horses outta the new G. And a racing flywheel,...that makes a big difference in acceleration.
marketing crap! i wanna know how the hell the G is the king?!
it's porky, and slower.
the only thing is that it has a LSD over the 335. but the 335 handles better even without the LSD!
i hate it when magazines pull conclusions out of their ass. i bet it cost infiniti some money to get that on a cover page!

i dont remember people had such comments on the G35 when it came out. it was impressive as it is in terms of sexxy looks and outstanding performance (at the time).
But this G37 needs dropping, some overlays, some weight reduction, the driver to be on a diet. and it lost the most important thing element (the engine) by adding a body in the trunk. why did infiniti do that?!
I know cars are all getting heavier with safety items and add ons, but this is getting rediculous. When a two door sports coupe is heavier than a four door luxury car, i.e. MB E350/E550. Especially, when lots of these luxury sedans will give the new G37 a run for it's money at stop lights. I guess I just don't like the "idea" that engineers would "allow" that in their design. I know the accountants have their say in it like they always do, but I mean come on. It's supposed to be a sports car not something that's heavier than most 4 door sedans.

Am I missing something? How is everybody coming to the conclusion that the G37 is better than the 335i? The BMW appears to hit every number quicker than the G37, with 30 less HP, 30 more lb-ft torque, and 300 less lbs of weight. And manages to get peak performance at 5800rpms with better fuel economy.
The G37 does have larger brakes, larger fuel tank, and a mildly better warranty for about $8k less.

ummm bc there are more to the cars than performance numbers... you and i might think it's number one.... but to most people the $8,000 savings is much bigger... combined with other things.
even so... the BMW is not significantly (spelling?) quicker than the G37... they even gave the real world example that neither pulled away from the other.. like the article said -- it makes it a moot point. the other advantages of the G and the $8,000 difference, however, is not.
