Default Stuck key--help needed quickly

Hey guys,
A friend of mine just lost access to her G in the parking lot. She parked at work this morning and turned off her car, but then wanted to re-park, so she tried to turn it back on and the car wouldn't even try to start. Now the key (the real transponder key) is stuck in the ignition.

My guess is that the chip in the key is screwed up and the immobilizer kicked in. Is there anything else it could be? If it is the immobilizer, what are her options? It would be very difficult to tow her car out of the parking garage.

Thanks, all

You know what I drive. Pictures.

Infiniti has free recovery service, remember... I suspect this is a perfect example of when to call them...

I think Milty is right. Call Infiniti Roadside Assistance.

Yeah, that's what she's doing. I just don't know how they're going to get the car down from the 4th floor. Or is this something they can do without moving the car?

False alarm. The car was in reverse instead of park.

(She gave me permission to post this, so feel free to laugh)

Did roadside assistance figure it out or did she? That's a funny one.

It's been a while since I've driven an auto, but isn't that how it works?

Thats pretty funny struan. Did roadside assistance show up before she figured out the problem? struan, and rlipps, you two are very close in post counts.
