Tire Advice. Ventus V4Es H105 or Falken Ziex 912 or 512
I've done a lot of searching on the forums and haven't seen anything significant about the above tires mentioned. I'm at 31k on my 04 6MT sedan, and I'm looking for a good performer that will at least delay my snow changeover to thanksgiving here in upstate NY. That means cold temps, and perhaps a dusting of snow here or there. The HANKOOK VENTUS V4ES seem like a steal at PEP Boys, 540 after rebate for 4, mounted balanced, NY tax and warranty, though Consumer's had them ranked 15th in a previous review of all-season UHP tires. (the 912's were first, though they don't LOOK as aggressive, and the 512 is an older tire). My current tires (avon tech, summer only) are spent. I'm willing to sacrifice a little performance since this will probably be my last summer with the car.
Any experiences with the above tires? Any other advice would be helpfule as well. The yoko S-drive will be my choice if I have to go for a straight summer tire again.

I ran a set of 512's on an NEON R/t I had a few years back. Absolutely loved them. An I was amazed at their wet and snow performance. Granted they were harnessing only about half the power you'll be putting to them with your G, so.
I will tell you this, you made my day by informing me that 512's are an option when I buy tires for my 05 sedan in a few months. They will get my first look.
I ran 512's and loved them on my Volvo S40 T5 AWD, I wasnt impressed with wet traction though and wouldnt recommend them for cold and early winter in upstate NY. (12's are supposed to be a bit better newer version of 512. I run 452's on mine, but instead of upstate (born and raised) I reside in Savannah GA. No input on Ventus. Best advice get down with the 452's but ditch after the first frost or snow for some Nokian WR. 1500 for a set of take off rims, the Nokians and a set of good summer tires will protect your 40k car and prob be good for 3 summers and 2 winters.
Try edgeracing.com for the tires, cheap and good shipping costs. If you like what they offer (slightly smaller selection) You cannot beat thier prices, probably even locally
both of those brands are junk..stay away from them..get kumho..inexpensive and good quality

Ventus v12's...good price and they handle really well..i've never had them but i've read really good things about them. I'm running Toyo T1R'S on my car now and my car sticks to the road like spider-man. I cant ever peel the tires. Unless of course i rev it high as hell and dump the clutch.
Speaking of junk don't get the kumhos they wear unevenly and don't offer good traction as they get worn. Go with a Bridgestone tire a little more money but you get twice the tire.

I have the Hankook Ventus V4s on my rears and so far so good. I was also planning on possibly getting the Falken 912s for the fronts. Heard good things about them, but am also concerned about noise with our front inside feathering problems. Anyone out there have any experience with the Falken 912s? I have the Goodyear RSAs in the front and are very quiet, but super expensive to replace. Sorry, I didn't realize this was the sedan section. My front feathering issues are predominately with the G35 Coupe.
Just strapped four Michellin Pilot Plus A/S's to my 05 for just over $900. By far the most I've ever spent on tires, they look alot like the Falken 512's but are backed by a 45,000 treadlife program. I don't hang at the track, so I'll take the longevity in lieu of some stick. Hopefully the investment proves to be a good one.
Ahem. If you live in a snow vulnerable area and you drive the RWD 6mt sedan, the Bridgestone Blizzak can't be argued with. I run them on my OEM 17s in the winter. Like velcro in the snow - the back wheels spin a lil with a jump start in the rain, but even expensive summer tires do that. You can get Blizzaks in low profile sizes too.
On the summer shoes I'm running Sumitomo HTZ's (popular tire on Supra forums) arrears and just reupped to Hancook Ventus v12 evo fronts - the latter have not touched pavement yet but I'll fill you in mid summer.
I started with Bridgestone Potenzas in the summer and I liked them, but they wear quickly. I had Toyo Proxes on the front, ok... but I think you're paying for the name. I also ran the Falken 452s which are awesome, but nobody in Central Pa seems to stock them.
Next time summers need to be replaced I'm gonna look at those Pilots...With the amount of ground I cover for work I'd rather save on replacement costs vs. having an aggressive looking tread.
R.I.P. Yokohama Parada Spec 2...
