1) The procedure is identical. I think he skipped mentioning how tight to do the oil filter though....some say just do it hand tight, but if your hands aren't so strong or even just slippery, that's not always enough. I always go between 3/4 and 1 full turn of the filter after the filter gasket just makes contact with the base. If you just scratch the end of the filter as soon as the gasket touches, you can then easily see how far it has rotated from that point.
2) I recommend Infiniti/Nissan filters, but buy them from an online dealership...they're way cheaper. The Nissan part number is #16546 JK20A. Don't forget you need a pair of them. Local dealer wanted $20 a piece, online is like $22 a pair plus shipping.
