Angry 18" Coupe Rims on my 04 Sedan, just got new tires and rubbing???

Hey guys, first post here. Just got a g35 sedan, bought some 18" coupe rims (18x8 18x8.5, you know the usual), and put on some new all-season Goodyear Eagle F1s. Drove it on the way home and every bump felt like there was rubbing on the back wheels. Anyone else had this problem? Is this normal? I thought they fit!!

Welcome to 6mt and congrats on the new car.

The 18 inch coupe rims are 18x8 +30 all around.

What size tires did you mount on those rims?

Your rear tires are probably too wide without having the fenders rolled.

Is your car lowered any?

I have the same rims with 235/45/18 tires all around and I never had any scrubbing. The car is lowered now and I rolled my fenders for extra measure with no scrubbing.

Thx guys. Went back to the tire shop. They put on 235/40/18s on the back, and no rubbing whatsoever. Guess that 10 difference is huge...

They should have installed 235/45/18s, which are the same diameter as the OEM tires.
