Default I'm so impressed by my 04 loner car!

Today I brought my 2003.5 G35 for its first service and as a loner car they gave me a 04 G35 sedan 5AT with 500 miles on it! Wow what a difference the AWD makes! there is no other way to put it.. it is so much better, the handing is unbelievable, I'm thinking about trading my car in for a 05 g35 when it comes out .. the only difference I noticed was, the cd changer is quicker, and the buttons for AM/FM, CD, Tape, Sat, I think they light up a little bit brighter around the edges.. It is a awesome car! What are your thoughts about it?

I highly doubt that your loaner car was an AWD model. They aren't supposed to hit the showrooms until November or December. And why would a dealer use the more expensive AWD model for their loaner pool? The 2004 does come with a LSD, maybe that's what you're feeling, though you would only really feel it on a wet road.

This quote from a Nissan/Infiniti press release:

"Beginning in early December 2003, the all-wheel drive G35 Sport Sedan will be available in one fully equipped model, the AWD G35 Sedan. It will be badged the G35x."

I think it's just the manual transmission cars that come with the LSDs in '04.

That's why they say "never buy a loaner car"...we get to try all the things we can't with our own []

heh heh... I didn't treat my loaner very well either, heh heh! And never buy a former rental either (for the same reason).

Hi Lead! [cheers]

I was wondering that too...I thought the '03 6MTs also had the LSD?

I dunno. If you go to the infiniti web site, though, they only mention the LSD when talking about the 6-speed close ratio transmission. Dunno about what was true in '03 either [dunno]

I don't know if LSD and cars should go together. Suppose you had some nasty flashback or something.[hypno][hypno][hypno][hypno]

LSD was not offered on 6MT sedans in '03...I traded an '03.5 6MTs for a '04 6MTs, in large part, just to get it. LSD and all the other '04 improvements, plus that gorgeous Diamond G, sucked me right in. The way my car is configured, the diff in base price was only $300. That's a helluva bargain - try retrofitting LSD to an '03 for that! And yes, Virginia, the LSD makes a big difference! [thumbup]
