Somebody please explain these headlights

Hey, everyone - I've had my 04 6MT sadan for 4 days now and I'm trying to figure out the head/fog lights. First of all, I know the Xenons are the low beams, no question there. That little exposed bulb in the lower reflector is a running light, si? It's on whenever the lights are on. My issue is with the fog/ high beams. It seems the fog lights are just the high beams at reduced power. Also, I want to replace the incandecents with some SilverStar bulbs (like I have in my Subaru - they are GREAT), so there isn't as much color difference between the lows/highs/fogs/running. The high/fog beams are H4 bulbs and are dual filament. The high beam filament has a reflector under it pointing it upwards. See attatched.....http://www.vehicle-wiring-products.c...hoto/XENON.jpg

Thanx, DF. I get it, now. Is that "running light" an H1 bulb?

That running light is called clearance light and it's a 168 wedge type. See here ....http://www.ttstuff.com/Merchant2/mer...ode=PIAA-19168

Thanx again, and thanks for the link - I have a pet peeve about HIDs with incandecent high beams/fogs - HIDs make the other lights look very yellow. Has anyone else replaced their incandecents with Super White/SilverStar/etc?
