Need your thoughts. 6MT vs Auto G35..

Someone mentioned to me that generally it would be little bit more difficult to try to sell a used car with manual than an auto one since more ppl prefer an automatic trans. when they're looking to buy a used car. Do you think that's the same case with G35 or that statment is valid at all? What are your thoughts on this? Do you think 6MT would interest to a more specific group/niche of buyers/drivers? I'm a new 6MT owner (bought a used one) so i was trying to get a feel for when i was trying to sell it a few years down the road. I also look up the used G35 for sale on cars.com or other online sites and the majority of them are auto. I would appreciate any of your opinions.

I assume your talking about the Sedan but want to confirm. yes, the auto will definitly give you a larger audience to sell, therefor the odds are it will sell quicker.

On the other hand, most are autos (sedan) so if you put up one of the rare 6MT's it might fly out because the niche group's demand may out weight the supply when it comes to used 6MT's.

But none of this should matter, you need to get the right car for you, it shouldn't impact resale value either way, so get what you want/need.

I would have loved to have my 07 Sport in 6MT, but the reality is that it is a sedan, my wife will need to drive it, I do a lot of commuting and for the majority of the time, I NEED a auto sedan.

Since the 6mt sedans make up only about 3% of the total production, you should have no problem selling it as there is a niche crowd (one of which is myself) that would only want a manual. You would probably command a higher price for it as well over the auto. Now if I were to get an '07, the S model would be considered as they have configured the tranny with the paddles to actually shift faster than one could do with a 6 speed and this year there is no hp penalty: both the auto and 6 speed will have 306hp.

Thanks, Kring and MikeG356MT. Yes, i'm talking about the sedan and that's what i have. Youre opinions about a niche crowd for 6MT and the 3% of total production might explain why i saw that most of the used G35 on sales are auto. I just got my 04 Sedan 6MT yesterday from an individual, so i had a littlbe bit of a buyer's remorse panic.

MikeG356MT, i saw you had a Z pedals, can i ask where to get them and how much they cost or is it easy enough to replace that myself? Thanks.
