Gear ratios

I am curious as how expensive it is to change the gear ratios on my 6MT. I have no problems with any of the gears up to 5 but i feel that 6 is too short. Why didnt they make it a true cruising gear so gas could be saved on the highway? I am not a gear head and do not really know anything about how transmissions work but would it be expensive to change the ratio of that 6th gear so that while going 75 it is only at aound 1500-2000 rpm?

umm...yea, you can have it changed, but you have to have the tranny taken out &/or apart! Ratio's have to be close to the other gear for rev / lag in shifts. It's a lot of work & money, so pay a little more on gas money instead! The VQ motor will handle the higer revs just fine!

and the sucker just flies when you get over 4000 rpm! It's scary in my G sometimes! Especially with the VDC turned off!
