It was awesome. I was driving around my town (Plainsboro, NJ) and there are lots of open roads - mostly a country area. Well, I was with my friends in a 2006 manual G35 (aero kit, sports suspension, rear wing) when an Audi 3.2L A6 pulled up right next to me. He was probably in his 20s, wore dark sunglasses, blasting music in his red Audi. He revved his engine and one of my friends said that he wants to race. I was scared to race with him because it not only would've been my first race, but it also was my 3rd month in a manual transmission. I knew NOTHING about racing, but I decided to go through with it anyways. I turned off the music so I could listen to the engine (I drive best by hearing the engine). I looked attentively at the stop light, keeping the clutch right before the catch point, no brake on - then BAM, green light. I go into first, then slowly into second (hey, I'm new to manual!). I look up and the Audi is already 2 cars ahead of me! I rev a little higher and go into 3rd, then 4th. I look over and I'm in line with him! I accelerate and shift to 5th and I pass him. I get into sixth and am going 90 in a 50 zone. A red light is up ahead and I am 2 cars' length passed the Audi. I release the clutch and hit the brake, landing right on the line. He pulls up about a second later, brakes hard past the line. All my friends are screaming in the back,"Oh my God I love this car!"
Haha sounds like fun! I wasnt really new to the manual tranny when i got my G last september but it did take some getting used to...i remember right around when i first got it i was drivin home with a friend at around 2am pulled up to a light on newly paved road. next thing you know some dudes roll up next to me in a black TL....guy in the backseat rolls his window down says ":fuck you lets race" next thing i know lights green and im gooooneee i wasted no time throwin that shifter where it needed to be i must of been at least 5 car lenghts on this thing in 4th going 90 right through the next green light then showing him what a G is really about when i smashed it in 6 at about 130 or so then seen him make a u-turn about a half football field away from me silly TL

Pretty good for an 18 year old manual newbie, eh?
Once you get better with the manual things will get a lot better. With some experience you should have left that Audi in the dust after about 30 mph and he should have stayed there. Those 3.2L V6 are ok for a luxury sedan but not up to par with the G by any means.
Nice kill.

If you want to get the most out of your car, don't shift until you're close to redline. All your best stuff is after 5,000 RPM. If you shifted to 6th at 90, You were jumping the gun. Nice kill though!
Base is right; you should be in 4th gear with plenty of room left to accelerate at 90mph
