i have no authority over any other dealership out there. Infiniti of Scottsdale might be one of the only Infiniti dealers around so their overhead could be more than ours and so forth. For the price to bring your car into service to have a "doctor" give your car a check up I really don't know how it'll work in a location where there is only one dealership in a 100 mile radius. I would just say if you knew the price beforehand you should've tried to ask for a discount or something. best of luck mike

Cool 30K service

Well, I am going to talk them into doing this for about $500, especially when all the responses I have gotten say it should be no more than that. My dealer has a low overhead for its size I suspect (having been a business major). I know only the mechanics make a lot of money, the reps and the dealers don't make squat (unless they sell something). But Kenny: with almost 3 years and only 6000 miles, what can I get away with NOT doing at this time (other than the cabin filter which is obvious)? I know all the mechanicals need to be refreshed to keep the car in top running order, but like how important is it to replace the radiator cap? If necessary, I will get a NISMO one this time. Since I had a Mobil 1 oil change 750 miles (but 4 months ago), I think I can skip that one as well. The belts for the new pulleys are 18 months old, so much for new belts; not needed.

I think a radiator flush and fill, plus maybe a tire rotation (they were balanced when I got the wheels less than a year ago) and top off and check all fluids and I should be done. Car runs like a top so I don't see anything disasterous happening. Oh, and BTW the brakes were redone last month on the TSB that came out. I keep up to date on all TSBs so that is no problem. I am just looking for ways to save money without sacrificing the reliability of my car. I hear some ppl. even SKIP the 30K service altogether! I can clean the K&N myself. Cannot think of anything else. I will make an appt today.

Edit: made the appt. and am taking a list of things with me tomorrow when I speak to my service advisor.

Cool 30K service: done!

Well I got away for $212 which included a radiator flush and fill, new wiper blades, tire rotation, new radiator cap, visual inspection of just about everything, topped off all fluids, washed the car and gave me a Cutter and Buck silk shirt with a small Infiniti logo on the sleeve (I always get stuff when I am there at no cost). But it satisfied my 30K service and all is AOK. Next visit, I decided to go for the Crawford 5/16" plenum spacer, like when I next get a minor service done. That will be about $250 installed. Not bad. Plus I got a slew of coupons for next time as well. They did a couple of other things now but I forget. I filed the paperwork already so it's not at hand. But I am happy and that is what counts! OH they cleaned and reoiled my K&N filter and inspected the cabin filter which was immaculate. It was about a 3 hr service so I think I got my money's worth as far as dealerships go. Some of you may disagree about how I went about this but the bottom line is: I am satisfied. And they delivered the car back to me neat as a pin.

Cool

yep, same dealer, but I had a good talk with my advisor and we went over beforehand what should be done and what does not need to be done right now. So, I save a bunch of bucks, plus them throwing in the new silk shirt was a perk!
