Shops will charge something around $80 for this but you can buy a kit at your local Pep Boys for $10 and do it yourself. It's very easy and the directions are easy to follow.
do the 28 point inspection which includes topping off the fluids
Their 28 point inspection amounts to a quick once over so don't pay any mind of what they tell you.
probably change the diff and tranny fluid if applicable
You won't need this, unless you're way over 100K miles, if you have a 6MT
oil and filter
Pay $40 at the dealer, shop or DIY.
rotate tires
If you get your oil changed, they usually charge another $5 to $10 for all 4 rotated.
change the cabin air filter (which I appreciate the link for but I do not have the patience)
Again, find the DIY and buy the filter on your own. You'll save $.
clean the K&N filter (can cause horrible trbl. to the m.a. sensor if not done)
K&N recharger kits cost $8 and you can clean and re-oil the filters youself. It's very easy and a child can do it.

plus the filter is not really that dirty and I have the charger kit in the closet! Boy you guys have saved me a bunch! To hell with the cabin filter for now, there's no time limit on something like that! I think the cooling system and the fluids are most important.
thanks Smoke, you are the bomb! I will adhere to your logic! The tune-up has no time frame? See, that is my biggest killer, time. What wears out in time, not mileage. Like the last oil change was done 6 months ago but only 800-900 miles ago. Shit like that. Bugs me to death!
i havent had an oil change on my car since i got it! im barely reaching 3k miles right now since i bought it. recommendations on oil changes say either every 3 months, or every 3k miles. i find that to be a load of bs, and a lot of mechanic friends of mines tell me just to wait to the 3k miles are up. oil doesnt get dirty by just sitting there, it only gets dirty when the car is running. the tune up is suppose to take place at around 75k miles, no time frame really, but since your car is modded, i suggest you do it at around 60k miles. you will feel the life being rejuvinated into your car spark plugs can make a big difference in acceleration.
OK, if they do replace all the belts then it sounds reasonable. Replacing belts can cost anywhere from $300 to $500 + depending on make and model of a vehicle. Also, I always thought that belts should be replaced around the 60K mile mark and not 30K, but I could be wrong about the VQ. I don't know why the VQ would need such early belt replacement. I'm not certain but aren't the VQ's one of those motors that don't allow the valves to crash into the pistons if the timing belts do fail? So even if they did fail it shouldn't casue any severe damage to the motor or it's internals.
The VQ engine does not use timing belts, it uses timing chains which should not break, thus they should not need to be replaced. The belts they are talking about are the assessory drive belts. I think my QX4 has the same basic engine and the factory belts, 2 of them, cost about $60 together. The were not too hard to replace on the QX4 except for removing the lower splash guard. I can see these belts being replaced at 30K. That is about when I replaced them on the QX4. I guess I will be doing the same in the G fairly soon.

I just changed my cabin filter a couple weeks ago....and it literally took me 10 mins to change it out...the diy is very descriptive.....give it a try
OK, that is right. The VQ uses cam chains instead of belts, therefore negating any worries of timing belts failing and trashed motors. So then, I wonder, why would the belt replacement job cost so much? Dealer gouging again? Either way, since the belts are only for there to power the accessories one shouldn't worry too much about replacing them when the factory recommends it, especially if the belts are in good condition. I guess it all comes down to whether you can afford the "preventative" maintenance or you're willing to gamble a bit.

Kenny can you call Infiniti of Scottsdale 480-991-0055 and let THEM know that!? I am going to have to pick and choose what I have done to the car now. $750 is gouging. Hey and how do I get my avatar bigger?
I just had my 30K mile service and the fuel tank valve fixed (the tank wouldn't fill up the whole way), and this only cost me 490 dollars. -_-;;...The dealer quoted me a price of $599 for the 30K alone...apparently they decided some things didn't need replaced or done??? I am not sure. I figured its a nearly $40,000 dollar investment, I may as well get the service done to maintain it. -_-. I agree though, for fluids and a stupid filter....its WAY to expensive.
