Tranny Issue?

Under hard acceleration, my G will go THUMP if you shift up in tiptronic mode while keeping the pedel floored.

My 04 loaner (10k miles) did not have this problem. do any of you have this issue as well?

you're talking about in 2nd - 3rd gear shift? that thump even the Evo's and STi's have for the tranny pushing the limited slip to send the power.

ahh. The M does it too. So it has something to do with a LSD I guess. I didnt really think it was a problem. Now that I remember, you 06 loaner thumpted too.

Off Topic: any updates on your 06 6mt? You get employees discount right?

neal, with mine I sometimes feel the 2-3 shift engage really hard in comparison to others. But I don't hear a thump or anything. (if fact I wish all the gear changes would be that crisp and firm). Does it happen more when the tranny is cold or after it's all warmed up? I notice it more when first driving and the tranny is cool.

Even my 6 speed is notchy until it is warmed up (this only happens when we have a rare cold snap). I have heard about this issue before and I guess it's pretty common with the automatics.

employee discount is what -- invoice? basically i pay what everyone else pays -- no deal !

i threw new rims on my altima so hopefully the lucky buyer will love them

I seriously though their would be an employee discount. And BTW, about the squeeky compression rod thing..Infiniti of America is well aware of the issue and is designing a repair. It will be out as a TSB shortly

that's probably the best looking Altima I have ever seen. Love the new wheels. I'd be real wary of driveways tho, it's so low!
