Lighting a match next to my '05 gas cap right now... Guess this is one that I need not worry about.

Everytime I attempt to fill my car up with petrol i am unsuccessful. The Pump clicks off so I assume the tank is full...WRONG. I get in the car to leave and the gas guage reads 3/4 tank full. Is this due to the recall? Perhaps my gas guage is broken? I have a 2003 sedan. I just purchased it used 3 weeks ago so I am not familar with the car yet. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

Default recall

wonderful....another f'n recall. Now I have 2 to do when I go to the dealer next time. Update 3/20/06: car is at the dealer now. I am having the recall done. I will lose most of my gas which Infiniti will NOT replace as the tank must be under 1/4 full for them to perform the recall. I am also having the brake pads replaced. Now why so much s*it over a $35K car? I had fewer problems with my 98 Rodeo. And if the dealer scratches my car (for the 3rd time) I will have a coronary. IT'S THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!! LOL. BTW: deceided not to get the plenum spacer, read thx's input on this and if he doesn't really notice the power increase then why do it? The parts alone are $265. Car is fast enough with the mods I have already done. Beat the tar out of an s2000 who thought he'd pass me on the right ha ha. This is a real 5 sec car. I am truly amazed by the performance but dismayed at the recalls. At least the dealer gave me a free loaner G35 (automatic though). A 2006. Nice car.

All you gotta do is turn the pump hose handle 90 degrees. Trust me.

No, different issue, there is a TSB for that as well. They will need to replace something on the inside of the fuel tank. It will fix the problem.

Yes there is (see following) but, if you just want to get topped off, usually turning the pump handle a little will help eliminate the early click-off.
