Default Borla exhaust questions

Anyone have a suggestion on best price available for a Borla cat-back system for my G sedan?

Also, does anyone have an audio clip of the Borla exhaust on a G35?

Thanks...

Default Borla exhaust

Stillen.com has the best price I found (about $800) unless you can order from Borla themselves. I don't have a sound byte but the note is SWEET! Without being too intrusive, when you accelerate you and your neighbors will know it's your car. I have a friend who says it sounds like a tiger roar! Plus you add about 20hp at the crank; it is s true dual system.

Thanks Mike, I knew you'd have some good insight! I've looked at Stillen, but it doesn't look like they carry Borla anymore. Probably trying to keep sales of their own brand going.

Would you say it gives more of a bass tone or a more raspy higher tone?

Sorry for misleading you, they do not have the Borla in their catalogue any longer, the tone is more bassy, less brappy! LOL! It's a nice deep powerful tone, belies the fact there is a V6 underhood as it sounds more like an eight with the Borla on it. If you can afford it I do recommend the Stillen exhaust, it's just that I did not want to spend $1000 plus installation. Hope this helps.

It helps a lot. I like the bass tone. Having come from V8-world, I'll take it. Can I ask why you recommend the Stillen over the Borla?

I have the Borla on my 6spd sedan and it sounds bad ass, and made a nice performance gain. It has a nice deep smooth growl. Bought mine from Hop UP Racing.com for $687 shippped, buy that was abouth two years ago. I think they sell the exhaust for $749 and I think it includes shipping. You'll have to check it out. If you hunt through old posts in the perf. mods forums I think there are some sound clips of various exhausts; not sure which ones. If I knew how to post a sound clip I'd make you some, but I'm clueless. Good luck.

Wow, great site! Thanks. Of course, now I've got too many choices and I like the sound of several...

Default Borla exhaust

The Stillen is just such a cool system, it is loud however, I guess I am just a performance junkie! LOL! If at the time I wanted to spend $964 plus ship and install, I would have gotten the Stillen, however, the Borla thru Stillen at the time was such a good deal (about $750 shipped). So it was a no brainer, the hp gains are the same (I checked). About 22hp at the crank for the sedan for both systems.

The stillen has less pieces...less flanges....makes great all around the range power...and fits like a glove. I've seen the Borla not fit well out of the box with minor tweaking (bending) of the hangers necessary. Every mechanic that's installed the stillen has nothing but good things to say about putting it on. It's worth the $$$ in my opinion.
