Default Yet another tire question...

I tried a search for the answer but came up empty.

My rear tires are just about bald. My front tires are so-so. I have a 2004 sedan with 17" wheels and premium package.

My first question is do I need to replace all four tires?

Secondly what type of tires do you recommend? I live in Florida so snow is not an issue.

Thanks in advance for your help and sorry about yet another tire question.

IMO I would suggest replacing all four tires and get an alignment as well. I would suggest looking into the Nitto tires, I just bought my second set for my truck {420s 255-55-18} is awesome looking and wear much longer than most high-performance tires with a reasonable price. I will be going with Nitto for my G when the time comes around.

Thanks Hotfoot. That's just the answer I needed.

I suggest replacing the rear tires only with a comparable performance tire (i.e. if the rears are ultra high performance, stay with ultra high...........if the rears are maximum performance, stay with maximum performance). If the tread on the fronts dictate replacement also, then look at replacing all four with a tire performance spec of your choice for your needs.

If replacing all four tires - If you are just tooling around, I'd suggest a nice high or ultra high performance tire, a maximum performance is not called for. I like Michelin, Bridgestone, Toyo, Yokohama, Pirelli, BF Goodrich. Less performance, but tire life should increase and noise should decrease.

I'd go with the alignment check that Hot Foot suggests also.

I just picked up some Yokohamas that I am rather pleased with. I'll check what model they are and get back to you.

Default new tires

I agree with replacing all 4 tires, check out tirerack.com (save up to 50% on Goodyears) and discounttire.com (even BETTER deals). You may even want to invest in a wheel/tire package upgrade if you are intersted in custom wheels. I also agree Nittos are good tires, I had a set on my BMW that lasted well over 40K miles and they were performance rubber!
