Default Throttle Malfunction

My service engine light came on this past Saturday. I have 10,400 miles on my 2005 6sp sedan. It lost power and appeared to feel like it shut down a cylinder or two. The tach went down to 250rpm!! when I stopped to turn off the car and turn it on again. When I hit the gas there was no response but idle was at 250!! boy was I pissed. This car has been a dream until that point. I got it back from the dealership today and apparently they had to replace the whole throttle chamber assembly!!!! $732.76 part covered under warranty. The diagnosis code was p2135 "bad consult diag" on the throttle chamber. They replaced and fixed it, cleaned the car and back to me in three hours. No problems so far, ran strong this afternoon.
Anyone experience this or other wierd things. What could cause a throttle chamber to fail????

You know up until a couple of weeks ago I had never heard of the problem. Now you are probably at least the 3rd person I've heard having this problem. I think nokares and at least on other person on this board reported having this problem.

I am gald you said that. I hope it was just a fluke and by replacing the whole throttle Infinfiti has fixed any future problems. I looked up the diagnosis code P2135 and it is the Throttle Position Sensor that failed, which is what I suspected. I just wasn't sure why they had to replace the whole throttle unless it is a design flaw and they are replacing the whole unit. It seemed they were prepared for this type of problem since they had the part handy and fixed within 2-3 hours. (not an Infiniti strong point)
I hope others will share if it happens to them.
My car was one of the first off the assembly line for the 05 6mt so this may be something they have found and created a fix for. I hope it isn't because I drive the crap out of the car
