Default 07 G35 Heat or AC delay on

My heat or AC won't start blowing air when I first start the car. It takes about 5-15 minutes of driving before the fan will start blowing. There doesn't seem to be a pattern on the delay that I can see yet.

I've reset the computer a couple times to no avail.

Anyone experience this? Any known solution?

I think there is a fan blower amp and yours may be bad. As you know, the AC system isn't controlled by hard (with contacts) switches.

Well I couldn't find it so I took it in. I was quoted $120 to find the problem. They ended up spending about 6hrs to find it according to the tech. They had my car three days while I had their new G37 loaner. It ended up being a $40 relay, which as I'm told wasn't in the repair manual's schematic. They found it after consulting tech support and tracing wires. The relay is under the dash behind the HVAC controls. Cost me another hour labor for the install.

Wow, that's something new to me. You got your money's worth on that diagnostic fee. Thanks for letting us know.

No kidding... you don't hear of that type of deal too often. I'd give the dealer a great rating for (1) sticking with it to solve it and (2) not stringing you along some as the work went long to get the corrected time/labor charges. They sound like they were more than fair and very capable.

Where are you located in MI ?
