I'm planning on getting a remote starter when I get my car. I was wondering if anyone can give me any info (brand, price paid) for their remote starter for your 6mt's. Thanks
My remote start isn't on a G, but I can still give you some info on them. Mine was $249. It is a compustar and I really like it. It really makes life a lot easier. I am thinking if the key has a chip in it they run more like $300. I don't think it cost any extra to get them for a manual you just can't have the car in gear when you try and start it. Either way I think they are worth the money. Good luck.
unless you are planning on doing it yourself...
most shops will not install it on a MT - bc it is illegal.
not sure if this is a NJ law or federal law. but that's what i was told when i wanted it done on my 6 speed Maxima

It has built in safety features. It uses a censore to insure that the parking brake is applied. It will also not work without being in neutral. The only down side is if you are parked on a hill you can't use the trans to help hold your car there.

I have one installed... its an older model though.. its like the hornet554t or something like that.. it was the first mod I did to my car.. also the best mod! Coolest feature ever
Thanks for all the info, I found compustars homepage and sent for their list of authorized dealers and found 3 within 20mins of each other. I'm thinking of getting the new compustar remote starter that has a 6000 ft range if it is not too pricey, but I been checkin out the other websites and I think peeps have been payin over $400 jus for the RS itself, hopefully the install wont be too much.
