Default A question about maintence on leases

I know on a lease they can be more anal about your mainteining your car and where you go to get work done, but im coming up to my first 3,000 miles soon and i want to know if i have to get the oil change and check up at the dealership or if can go to any mechanic?

it doesnt matter where and when you maintain it. as long as it is in good condition when you turn the car in. they cannot force you to go certain places or to oblige by a certain shedule or to show proof of what you did.

actually, most leases are taken WORSE care of - because the driver won't be owning the car in the long run....

I know leases arent taken care of as well as a car that soneone owns thats why i though dealerships would be more anal about where and when you get ur maintence checks and repairs because the car is theirs.

yeah but how would they track it.
no way....
now if you turned the car back in and the engine was knocking like crazy and they find 1 quart of night black oil in the engine... then you might have a problem. but if you take normal care of it, everything will be fine.
