Default Anyone Paint stock rims black?

Has anyone ever painted or coated stock rims black? (pics) High Gloss black or flat finish? Seems like a good alternative to spending big $$ on Volks that don't look that much different. $$ Better spent adding power.

I've seen guys in California and this guy below in Atlanta powdercoat wheels (they are 350Z wheels)

I think going rate is somewhere around $250 a wheel + shipping + dismount/remount/balance. The upside is the powdercoat finish is going to be much more durable than a painted deal.

There was a guy in Canada just recently who got his rims painted black by his dealer. They actually did it for free..........and without even asking his permission.

Needless to say, he was quite pissed, and rightfully so.

Apparently they used some sort of solvent on them.

i saw a blk coupe with the 6spd rims painted flat black...it didn't look too great. it completely lost the luxury look and had a protype or spy-pic look to it. it had a lot of black, the windows were tinted too.

I like those rims with the powdercoat. Well, anyone here thought about painting their grill? For example, IP paint their grill white, and black paint their grill black? I think it would look nice. I was driving yesterday and saw a white jetta and the grill was white also and it looked good. Can somebody photshop a pic of a white or black G with color coordinated grill? Thanks.

I would make the tint limo dark so no one could see my face on such a butt ugly wheel.

Everytime I see a ride with blacked out rims it reminds me of people taking off their plastic wheel covers and rocking steelys. It's like the wheel gets lost into the wheel well.
