"Infiniti isn't as prestigious a brand as BMW, Lexus, or Mercedes. And it doesn't quite match them or Audi for refinement or interior materials. But in performance, style, space, and available all-wheel drive, the G35 earns our Recommended label as a credible and less-expensive alternative to rival models from those automakers. "
I just hate the shit-paint! lol

Consumer Reports favors whoever pays them the best. and i'm not kidding.
in the past, i had sold consumer electronics... and i would always have customers coming to me saying "well why are you recommending this Harman/Kardon reciever when consumer reports told me to buy the Sony"
For those of you that do not know... Sony makes just about the worst audio equiptment imaginable. except thier ES line is half decent.
I f'ing HATE Consumer Reports and as just said, they SHOULD be wiped form this earth... the only people they are helping is underachieving manf.

No wonder BMW uses Harman/Kardon for thier systems. Anyways, I agree with the replies above, consumer reports, motor trend and most of other magz are biased and feed the public with a false representation of many products.

Cannot speak to the car stereo sound quality, other than Harmon/Kardon should deliver a better sound than the Bose, however, for a home receiver and the price they are hard to beat IMO.
Not sure where you guys get your info, but Consumer Reports is a noprofit organization which receives no advertising money from anyone. They are subscriber and grant funded only. So they have no axe to grind nor any incentive to pump one brand over another. Are you thinking of something else?
"Consumer Reports® and ConsumerReports.org® are published by Consumers Union, an expert, independent nonprofit organization whose mission is to work for a fair, just, and safe marketplace for all consumers and to empower consumers to protect themselves. To achieve this mission, we test, inform, and protect. To maintain our independence and impartiality, CU accepts no outside advertising, no free test samples, and has no agenda other than the interests of consumers. CU supports itself through the sale of our information products and services, individual contributions, and a few noncommercial grants. Consumers Union is governed by a board of 18 directors, who are elected by CU members and meet three times a year. CU's President, James Guest, oversees a staff of more than 450."
I have had a Harman/Kardon receiver for about 10-years now, and it still makes me smile with the surround sound quality it delivers.
Harmon/Kardon sounds about as good as our BLose which = CRAP. The Lexus stereos totally blow ours and BMWs out of the water.
YEA. H/K in the BMWs isn't true H/K quality. I'm talking about home audio receivers. At the price point of those receivers, nothing really beats them, until you get above $2,000 ... then there is other/better stuff.
As far as the Lexus goes... it better sound better because the higher-end Lexus's use Mark Levinson, which is H/K. (well in a way.) Harman International is the parent company for H/K, Infinity, JBL, Mark Levinson, Lexicon, Proceed, Madrigal, and much more... Mark Levinson makes probably the best amplifier a human can buy. Lexicon makes one of the best pre-amps out there. Well, they both make pre-amps and amps. But a mono-block amp from Mark levinson can cost $20,000 or more (last time i checked.) For those of you that do not know, a monoblock is only 1 channel. In a home system, you would need 5, 7 or more. Of course, the Mark Levinson equipment in the Lexus cars are nothing like the "real" Mark Levinson stuff.
